Top 5 Skincare Products

Leanne and Calla each share their top 5 all time favorite skincare products!

Skincare, something we both have a much greater appreciation for in our 30’s than we ever did in our 20’s… and let’s not even talk about our High School days. In the past 5 or so years we have invested a lot of time, effort and money into finding the perfect skincare items for our skin.

DISCLAIMER: we are not dermatologists. These products are recommended based on our specific needs and what works best for our skin. As always, consult a specialist with any specific concerns you have.

Before we talk about our favorite products, let’s talk about our skin types. Calla has normal skin that can sometimes be dry but not often. Leanne has combination skin that can lean toward oily at times, with slight texture issues. We believe it’s important that we let you know what type of skin we have, because if yours is different, these products may not work for you.

Now, let’s get into the fun part - our top 5 favorite products!

Calla’s Favorites:

  1. Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream: This moisturizer has been my go to for the last 3 or 4 years! It is very lightweight but has so much hydration. This formula helps with lines, wrinkles & sun damage. Let’s be honest, it was cool to lay in tanning beds when I was in high school and college and now I’m trying to reverse the effects that had on my skin. The protini blend is formulated with firming protein and peptides that help restore collagen. Exactly what I need for my skin in my 30’s!

  2. Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil: I seriously think that this was a HUGE game changer in my skincare routine. I use this as my last step after my moisturizer. Just a couple drops goes a loooong way, it absorbs very quickly and doesn’t leave my skin greasy. I have noticed a reduction in my fine lines on my forehead and around my eyes. Bonus for all Drunk Elephant products, they are ALL CLEAN BEAUTY PRODUCTS!

  3. Dime Beauty Hyaluronic Acid Serum: I recently added this into my skincare routine and have been loving the results. I mix a few drops into my moisturizer every morning and night and it helps keep my skin hydrated and pump in the Arizona dry heat. Hyalorinic acid helps pump and hydrate your skin throughout the day. Dime Beauty is vegan and cruelty free.

  4. Drunk Elephant T.L.C Sakari Babyfacial: I try and do this every #selfcaresunday. This is a resurfacing facial treatment that improves skin texture, tone and gives you a more youthful-looking skin. It’s not lying when it says Babyfacial because your skin feels so smooth and bright after 30 minutes of masking.

  5. RoC Retinol Correxion: I started using this a couple months ago from the recommendation from the Dr. that does my Botox (before you act surprised, I’m 34 and need help with my WTF lines between my eyes!). She has amazing skin and swears by this product and she has never done Botox! I have noticed my WTF lines not filling in as fast which will help stretch my Botox appointments.

Leanne’s Favorites:

  1. Tarte Drink of H2O hydrating boost moisturizer: Since I have combination skin, I need a moisturizer that doesn’t make my skin feel greasy. This gel based moisturizer was the diamond in the ruff I found after years of searching! Not even kidding. It has a cooling sensation, leaves my skin feeling hydrated without feeling greasy, doesn’t fight my sensitive skin, and has the added bonus of working nicely with my makeup. All around win-win-win for me. I’ve recommended this to many of my friends, and I recommend it to you as well!

  2. Tula Cooling & brightening eye balm: Calla and I have raved about this product so many times, in so many ways, and we will never stop talking about how amazing this product is! If you’re looking for the perfect eye balm that helps with puffy eyes, gives you that refreshed/brightened look, and works beautifully with your concealer, this is the product for you! On my no makeup days, where all I wear is mascara (I need mascara, I can’t function without it), I feel completely confident putting this on my eyes and going on my way. It’s a must have item for everyone!

  3. Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40: Sunscreen. So incredibly important. Nearly impossible to find one that doesn’t give you a white cast or destroy your makeup. Until now! This facial sunscreen is named perfectly! Unseen and I will cosign on that completely! It’s a clear gel, SPF 40, lovely finish that doesn’t feel like you have anything on, and doesn’t break down your makeup. I know, I know, the price tag is a little up there but it’s completely worth it.

  4. Tula Replenishing cleansing oil: Makeup remover. Why, someone please tell me why any company makes a makeup remover that burns your eyes! How is that still a thing?! Out of all the types of skincare products I’ve tried, I believe makeup remover is the one that I’ve wasted the most money on. How? Because other products I can use even if they’re not my favorite, but a bad makeup remover that burns my eyes goes straight into the trash without a second thought. That’s why I was so grateful to find this product! Does it remove my makeup? Sure does. Does it burn my eyes? No. It. Does. Not. That’s the greatest selling point for me! Love this product!

  5. Olay Regenerist Retinol24: The older we get, the more products we have to put on our faces, the longer our skincare routine becomes, the crabbier I get. That’s why I was beyond happy to find Olay Regenerist Retinol24 because it’s a nightly moisturizer and retinol combined! It works perfectly with my sensitive skin, and has really helped improve my texture. Not to mention, it leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated through the night and into the morning. I’ve loved the results I’ve gotten since incorporating this into my nightly routine.

Let us know your favorite skincare products below! We’re always looking to try new things that may be even better than the ones we’ve already found!

XoXo,

Calla & Leanne
