LUSH Bath Bomb Review

travelwithcookies

Take some time to relax and treat yourself to a Lush Bath Bomb!

Recently, I got gifted a LUSH bath bomb box. Now, I have heard of LUSH for years but have never pulled the trigger on actually trying them. Why? Honestly, I have no idea. Just a bad life choice. So, when the greatest smelling box that ever existed found its way to my front door, I couldn’t have been more excited!

That being said, when I first started writing this review, it went far right into the land of way too many details that no one should really honestly care about. Just a random train of thought post that has a lot of words but actually says nothing. In my defense, my first stab at this was while I was sick and apparently the medicine I was taking made me wordy, haha. Now, looking at this with fresh eyes I decided to go in a more generic - thing people actually want to know route. Hopefully, you’ll agree haha.

First things first, OMG the smell. There were 5 beautiful bath bombs in my gift and each one smelled better than the previous. There was a very large part of me that didn’t want to use them and just wanted to keep them just as they were forever. But that didn’t happen...I definitely used them all. Anyway, back to the fragrances. I had a wide variety in my gift: berry, flower scents, cocoa butter, honey...they were all present and smelled wonderful. However, I will say this. I have allergies...I basically live on Zyrtec #notsponsored and I found the flower fragrances, while delightful in bomb form, were very strong when I used them in my bath. Very strong, to the point where I had to cut my baths a little short when my nose decided it had enough. So, if you have a sensitive nose like I do, that might be something to keep in mind. If I had to pick my favorites as it pertains to smell, it would be the ones that incorporated Honey or Cocoa butter - they smelled wonderful and didn’t make my allergies freak out.

Next up, bubbles. Now, I have used bath bombs from other companies before and I know that LUSH doesn’t say their bombs are for you to relive your childhood but this was something that nonetheless surprised me. Very little bubbles. Was it relaxing af? Yes! We will get to that in just a moment but there was still a small part of me that was sad that there weren’t more bubbles. That being said, that’s just me. I’m sure a lot of adults want to relax in a tub without accidently ending up with a Santa bubble beard.

One of the things I was actually worried about (without reason) was what would happen to my tub when all these different colors and sometimes glitter - came in contact with it and I’m happy to report that nothing happened, haha. Really though, the colors didn’t do anything to my tub, thankfully. The glitter, well...it hung around for a little but nothing anyone would notice unless you were looking for it. Just a nice shine to my tub for a few days after, haha.

Finally, the product itself. I mean, there is a reason people are obsessed with these and after trying them myself I can honestly say...I get it. I totally get it. Every single bomb left my skin feeling wonderful. LUSH gets somewhat detailed on what each bomb is specifically supposed to do - is that really necessary...maybe? I’m not sure. I didn’t feel much of a difference between the ones I used but don’t get me wrong - each time my skin was so soft and I felt refreshed and relaxed at the same time. Which is exactly what I want out of my bath bombs. Overall, if you haven’t tried a LUSH bath bomb, I highly recommend you give it a go. You won’t be disappointed and it’s important to have some relaxing “me time” every now and then!

Added bonus: LUSH is cruelty free <3
