Let's talk about Tarte Cosmetics and their incredible items!
Zoom meetings, social distancing get togethers, Target runs, small get togethers - there’s still reasons for wanting to look our best during this time in our lives and with that comes my personal love of makeup.
Now, full disclosure, I am not someone who wears a face full of makeup every single day. Far from it in fact. Nonetheless, I do incorporate some type of makeup routine in my everyday life. Whether it’s just concealer and mascara or foundation with all the works - I love searching for the best makeup for myself.
Which is why, when my Cookie texted me that Tarte Cosmetics was having it’s Custom Makeup Kit sale, I was sold before I even made it onto the website.
This is where I have to be very honest about how this experience was for me - and Calla can contest - it took me HOURS to put my kit together. I looked into each product, checked out reviews, stalked Instagram for real life pictures, and took quizzes when they were available. This girl does her research so let’s get into the products I chose!
Foundation: Amazonian clay airbrush foundation I love this foundation and highly recommend it! I have sensitive skin but could wear it all day with no issues. Added bonus, it felt like there was literally nothing on my skin but looked flawless.
Concealer: Shape Tape
No complaints! I do have a ride or die concealer that I will be putting to the test along with Shape Tape to see who comes out on top - so be on the lookout for that in the future!
Blush: Amazonian clay 12-hour blush
I picked the color dollface and it looks beautiful on my pale skin. It’s also so easy to blend and build up depending on how impactful you like your brush to be. I can see why so many people love their blushes.
Brows: Busy gal BROWS tinted brow gel This “tint” is no joke. The first time I used it, I went in way too heavy and I wouldn’t be surprised if you could see my brows from space. The next time went much better. Right now, I have pretty thick brows because I can’t get them waxed, so I went in first with a clear hair gel to tame them and then with a lighthand, put the brow tint on top. It worked perfectly and gave me the natural look I prefer for my brows.
Mascara: limited-edition big ego mascara
This is a beautiful everyday mascara. I will say though, that you need to use an eyelash curler with it if you want that big, fake flashes effect. The mascara alone will not give you the overly lifted look, but you will achieve that right away by curling before application.
I selected this item for my kit because it has a liner and lipstick in one. I don’t know why, but I always have a hard time finding a liner to match my lipsticks, so when someone does the work for me, I’m a happy girl! I selected the color romantic because I wanted a light pink, universal color for summer and I love it.
The final item in my kit was a cleanser because I am always on the hunt for quality skincare! I’ve only used it 3 times so far but I love it! It is a gentle exfoliant, so my skin doesn’t react poorly to it, but it really cleans the stress of the day off your face. My skin feels not only clean but smooth after using this product, which is a huge bonus for me because my main skin issue is texture. Overall, I’m beyond happy with the products I selected and I already know these will be my go to products for everyday makeup looks!
