It's some of the most important things to pack and yet - the one people struggle with the most. Learn my tips to packing your toiletries like a pro!

Toiletries- Raise your hand if you have ever forgotten your toothbrush, shampoo or an essential travel toiletry item but didn’t realize it until you got to you hotel? (GUILTY ✋🏼) I know that this is not the most exciting topic that I could write about but I think it is a super important part of traveling. If you are anything like me, you might be a last minute packer for vacations or business trips. Rewind my life about 4 years and you will see a girl throwing things into a suitcase about 30 minutes before she had to leave for the airport. This means I didn’t plan out any outfits so I was scrambling to throw as many shirts, pants and shoes in my suitcase that I could possibly squeeze in. Toiletries were dead last on my list to pack and I would jam them in between everything else I managed to shove in my suitcase crossing my fingers I didn’t forget anything. This was my process until one day I got to my hotel and noticed that my lotion and body wash had exploded all over inside my suitcase. After a few choice words came out of my mouth and a trip to the nearest Target to get more lotion and body wash, I knew I should be more of a smart traveler and functioning adult but I wasn’t sure what I was going to do yet to make that happen. When I got home from that trip I was putting away my suitcase and noticed I had 2 clear bags with zippers from a random luggage set that I never even used. A lightbulb went off in my head: “I should use these to store all of my travel sized toiletries in and they will just be ready and waiting for me to grab and go! Plus this will help any explosions from spreading to my clothes.” From that day forward I have been using this method and it works out perfectly and saves me so much time wondering if I packed everything that I need. After I get home from each trip, I make a list of items I need to restock and then next time I’m at Target (which is at least once a week), I grab what I need and toss it my my toiletry travel bag. I even have my husband on the travel toiletry bag band wagon now! A few of my must haves while traveling are: 1. Dry shampoo - my favorite right now is Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo. I am a dry shampoo junkie and only wash my hair once a week! This didn’t happen overnight and took time to train the grease(that sounds gross, just go with it) but it saves so much time! 2. Shout Wipes - super important just incase you are grabbing lunch or dinner and spill something on yourself and don’t have time to go back to the hotel and change. 3. Downy Wrinkle Release- not everyone travels with a steamer so with this you can spray on your shirt, turn on the shower as hot as it will go and let it run for about 5-10 minutes. Wrinkles are not completely gone but way better than before. 4. Empty mini bottles- I use these to take my favorite body wash or shampoo/conditioner with me so I don’t have to take the full size bottles. 5. Designated travel toothbrush- I just got the Quip and it was the best decision I have made in a long time! I use an electric toothbrush at home and when I traveled my teeth never felt quite as clean. Step in Quip (I bought mine from Target) and it has made all of the difference. So if you are anything like the Calla from 4 years ago that would always have to run and pick up something she forgot at the closest Walgreens or CVS. Or maybe you have had the joy of bottles exploding in your suitcase like me, I highly suggest you try this method out and see if it helps you as much as it has me! Happy Traveling! Calla
