Brewery Tours?! Always - learn how we planned our own Brewery Tour in Houston!
You can take the girls out of Wisconsin, but you can’t take the Wisconsin out of the girls!
Anytime we travel to a new city, we have to always include craft beer on our must experience list. When it comes to craft beer, count us in for as many brewery stops we can go to and still be ok to go out to dinner that night! LOL! For Houston, I selected 4 breweries that were Uber-ing distance from our hotel and within close proximity of each other.
First stop was Saint Arnold Brewing Company. This was our favorite out of all of the breweries we visited. It has an amazing outside area filled with community picnic tables for you to mingle and make new friends if you’d like or just hang out with your friends. I ordered The Blonde Show which is a blonde ale and Leanne had a Daydream an American Saison, both were delicious! We also enjoyed lunch here, we ordered a margarita pizza and pretzels with beer cheese. Anything with beer AND cheese, count us in!
Next up, we went to Sigma Brewing Company. This was a smaller brewery tucked away in the Second Ward. They had a small tap list, but great variety. I decided on their Intermezzo which is a fruited sour ale and Leanne drank their blonde ale. They even had a taco vendor there but since we just ate, we had to pass on the delicious smelling nachos. Once you are ready to head out but want to take your favorite beer with you, they offer cans, bottles and crowlers.
Third stop on the day was 8th Wonder Brewery. The atmosphere here was awesome and they had a HUGE tap list. Our favorite part was the outside seating area with tons of cool photo backdrops for awesome picture opportunities! #bloggerproblems We forgot our clicker to take photos via Bluetooth but used the 10 second timer on my phone to get the shots. With plenty of odd looks from the fellow beer drinkers, I got a few shots by running from my phone and quick posing next to Leanne! #doitforthegram
Last on our brewery adventure for the day was True Anomaly Brewing Company. This was walking distance from our last stop so it was perfect! Another smaller taproom but a great beer lineup. We both had a hazy IPA’s, I don’t remember the name nor did I take a picture of the menu because let’s be honest, we were too drunk by then to remember to do that!
If you are a craft beer enthusiast and headed to downtown Houston, we would highly recommend checking these four breweries out!!
